WheelDrive compatibility overview

WheelDrive, the innovative power assist add-on by Indes, is compatible with a vast majority of the manual wheelchair frames in the global market. Thanks to the unique mounting mechanism, no adaptations to the existing wheelchair are required and hardly any additional parts are needed.

With the number of available manual wheelchairs in the global market, this list is not meant as a complete overview of compatible wheelchairs. New compatible chairs are continuously added to this list.

Connect to WheelDrive with PowerTalk.

Powertalk is our smart Windows app. It connects to WheelDrive via USB.

Various types of users can use Powertalk with different functionality. For end users a license is available that provides the option to do software updates and read and send system performance data to a service desk.

The version for service engineers includes basic settings and display of the system history. The most advanced version, for trained service engineers, features extensive settings to tune the driving characteristics of the WheelDrive system.

Automated fault indication saves on troubleshooting time and costs.

WheelDrive is an advanced technical product. Despite all effort we put in making WheelDrive as stable and robust as possible, like bicycles or cars, the device may need some service during its lifetime due to wear, misuse or incidental system faults.

Repair work never comes at a good moment. But it makes a huge difference when it can be done fast and efficiently. The smart software in the WheelDrive systems is able to recognize most system faults. With use of PowerTalk and our step by step troubleshoot guides faults can be pinpointed, even remotely, and are solved quickly.

The “Usage” tab gives information about the system usage, related to the expected life-time.

The “Values” tab gives real time information about the parameter values stored in your Wheeldrive  and battery pack. This information can be used to analyse the status of the system and the battery.

Under the “Settings” tab you find system parameters that can be adjusted*. The default factory setting is the most common settings profile that suits most users, but several settings can be personalized for users with special needs or wishes.

Under the “Counters” tab relevant built in counters for the system and battery of your product can be viewed (and some can be reset).

Under the “Log” tab you find the log file created by the firmware of the connected product in which all important events that happened when using the product are stored. This log file is very useful for service repairs and solving problems of users. It can store approximately 1500 lines of data*.

*When more events happen the oldest line is erased.

The following three license levels are defined:

L1 – License for end user: no rights to change or reset parameters.
L2 – License for regular service engineer: right to change a limited number of settings and counters.
L3 – License for certified service engineer and system integrator: right to change an extensive number of settings and counters.

Service

Distributors and dealers are kindly requested to notify Indes about relevant service cases. Use our service form to communicate all relevant information.  We hold tight record of service performance and use this information for post market surveillance and initiation of periodical product improvements. Filling the service form is obligatory when components are returned for warranty or repair.

Please send completed service forms to service@indes.eu, shortly after each service visit. You will receive a return merchandise authorization (RMA) in case you are claiming repairs and warranty.

Warranty

Indes grants a warranty of 2 years on component defects and 1 year on batteries. The warranty period starts on the date indicated on the invoice. Normal wear and tear and misuse are excluded.  Warranty is valid on components only and not on any additional costs, like labour or shipment. Only complete components or spare parts, as listed in product (spare) parts overviews are applicable for warranty. Indes only takes warranty claims from WheelDrive dealers. If you are an end user of an WheelDrive product, please contact your dealer.
